Highly efficient masking

Hider is a masking system for antennas, equipment and technological installations. It blends with the surrounding environment while guaranteeing safety for operators and users in the area. With our experience gained in the telecommunications sector, we have designed a solution that is customised, including all components. The Hider system meets the requirements of safety, appearance, radio-transparency, structural strength and easy maintenance.

EUROPEAN PATENT

Hider and Hider 5G are solutions covered by European patents.

Hider comprises

The roof is fixed and firmly anchored to the structure underneath, partially attached with metal fixings and a Velcro fastening system. It has been wind tunnel tested and, should the door fail or not be closed properly and wind be allowed to enter, the Velcroed part of the roof lifts, letting the air out.

Stainless steel collars ring the structure, connecting the masking to the pole.

Fibreglass profiles, which are hollow with a square cross-section, allow the fabric to follow the contours of the masking frame, which can be square or polygonal.

Perforated PVC camouflage fabric covering the structure. The fabric is RF transparent and is resistant to weathering and external stress.

To help keep the masking fabric taut and increase its strength, it has been edged with polyester tape.

Access to the ladder is through a door with a UV-stable 2-way zip system.

Why choose Hider

Tested to guarantee maximum reliability

We have meticulously tested the Hider system to ensure good radio-transparency, weather resistance and a long life.

Tests performed at the TLab engineering studio have proven that the Hider system is completely radio-transparent, even at high frequencies of 5G. We examined frequency ranges from 700MHz to 3800MHz, and different electrical tilt settings.
The results revealed very high performance without any significant signal distortion, thus preserving the typical antenna degree of coverage.
The power distribution in the secondary lobes also remains similar to the original, and no unwanted interference is present.

We performed wind-tunnel tests on the Hider system to check how it reacts to the force exerted by gusts of wind, up to 158 km/h. The sheet covering and structure did not suffer any permanent deformation. On the contrary, they returned to their original shape.

The Hider system complies with the required technical specifications for heat dissipation, even under 2G + 3G + 4G + 5G installation conditions. As a result, it does not overheat or interfere with the functioning of the antenna. The results are certified by a specialised study on the subject.
Simulation with data:

  • Maximum expected temperature = 40°
  • Internal output = 10800 W
  • Masking height = 7 m
  • Masking diameter = 0.5m / 1.0m / 1.6m

Compared to traditional masking solutions, the Hider system performs much better in managing heat. In fact, as the diameter increases, the internal temperature decreases.

HIDER

The masking solution for antennas and equipment is designed to be strong and hard-wearing to guarantee the safety of operators and the surrounding environment. It perfectly fits into the environment, due to its versatility and customisation, as well as easy maintenance. It is radio-transparent and does not interfere with normal antenna performance.

HIDER 5G

The solution has been specifically designed for the higher frequencies typical of 5G. Besides featuring all the advantages already mentioned for the Hider system, the 5G version uses fully radio-transparent construction materials tested in advance for this type of frequency: polyester tapes and polycarbonate C-shaped devices that act as spacers and stiffen the tapes (pre-tensioned with special ratchet tensioners). This provides a ‘beam of cables’, a supporting surface for masking, which enables the construction of cross beams and corner elements if fibreglass profiles are to be removed.
With this configuration we can also guarantee the required shape and resistance to wind-induced deformation.

Totem

the indoor Hider solution

Using the totem solution, the Hider system can also adapt to mask micro-cells in indoor installations with reduced dimensions and with the option of using any shape and graphics.

The structure consists of lightweight, radio-transparent panels that do not affect the indoor signal in any way. Ideal for all environments with a high network capacity.
